We, the guys at Animoto, are dedicated to supporting up-and-coming bands and artists by featuring a regularly updated selection of music picks -- all tunes that we truly dig. In the few months since we've launched, we're proud to say that the tracks in our collection have already been shared with millions of people in over 100 countries. Our collection has turned out to be a lot more popular than we ever thought it would be.
To keep a great thing going (and since we've been getting sent tons of music) we've put together an official submission process. If you're a band or artist and have a track that you know totally kills, here is your chance to have your work featured on Animoto and possibly added to our collection.
Each month, we'll pour through all the tracks that have been submitted and select 10-12 finalists. Tracks will be featured for one month in our music collection under a category named "Featured Tracks". Tracks that prove to be popular as soundtracks to users' Animoto Videos will officially be added to our permanent music collection.
And... once added to our collection, you will also be included among our paid Animoto artists! (Note: Being a start-up company, we won't exactly be making you rich or anything, but we believe in making sure bands and artists are paid for their work. Hopefully, it'll at least afford you the occasional celebratory pizza or drinks.)
Send us your best track. Every track will be listened to by the team here and considered.
Things to know:
The submitted song must be clean. All sorts of people use Animoto, so we can't support songs that might be inappropriate or overtly offensive.
The submission process starts at midnight on the first of the month and concludes at 11:59 PM on the last day of the month.
Every month initiates an entirely new set of song finalists.
If music does not fall into one of the following categories, please indicate what genre you are submitting.
Indie Rock
Electronica
Hip-Hop
Singer/Songwriter
Latin
Jazz
Only one song per artist per month. A submission with multiple songs will be disregarded.
Artists cannot submit the same song twice, but may submit a different song for the next month with.
Cover bands, stock music producers, and anything resembling elevator music need not apply.
